HP DVD Writers incorporating Super Multi Support and LightScribe

HP has introduced two-high speed DVD burners that can read and write to single- and multi-layer DVDs and are compatible with DVD-RAM format.

HP has introduced two-high speed DVD burners that can read and write to single- and multi-layer DVDs and are compatible with DVD-RAM format.
The HP dvd840i and HP dvd840e can edit, write and share up to 8.5Gb of data - including digital photographs and videos - on a double DVD. Write speeds are 16x for single-layer DVDs, 8x for double layer DVDs and 5x for DVD-RAM. The drivers can burn onto all the major formats including: DVD+R/+RW, DVD-RAM, CD-R/RW and LightScribe.
Both drivers support LightScribe 1.2 labelling technology, which enables information to be burnt directly onto the top of the disk using the DVD writer.
